Innovative Green Device Gains Attention on Kickstarter
New York, NY: Green Starts Here has launched a Kickstarter for its first product, the ShowerSaver. The ShowerSaver, is a simple and easy-to-use device that let’s people know how long they’ve been showering and how many gallons they’ve used. It’s being marketed as a green product that will help lower water and energy usage, and the related carbon emissions. With an ambitious fundraising goal of $33,000, the ShowerSaver hit the 10% mark in the first two days.
The ShowerSaver is innovative, as it uses a sensor to automatically turn on when it detects someone is in the shower, has an easy-to-read color-coded display, and attaches in a minute to the shower wall. In fact, the design is so compelling that the Psychology Department at the University of Delaware is currently conducting a full academic study of the ShowerSaver.
“The ShowerSaver is all about awareness,” says Kevin Myers, founder of Green Starts Here. “Shaving just a minute off of your daily shower saves 1,000-2,000 gallons of water and 200 lbs of carbon dioxide in a year. Being aware of your shower time is an easy way to feel better knowing that you’re taking a step to lower your carbon and water footprint.”
Those interested in pre-ordering the ShowerSaver can visit the Kickstarter page.
Kevin Myers founded Green Stars Here after several years in finance. Green Starts Here designs products that empower individuals to incorporate green decisions into their daily lives.
