Picture this. Buying yourself a nice new cream carpet. Having every visitor taking off their shoes each time they come round to visit you. Receiving the thousands of compliments of how great and clean your carpet looks and how well you have managed to keep it looking good. Then picture this. Your 5 year old son asks for a new pet dog. He pleads with you and gives you those saddened eyes and you can’t resist and end up complying with him.
You tell yourself over and over that you will make sure your nice cream carpet will not get ruined with muddy paws. But oh look, the dog has just been outside and his pacing as fast as he can onto your lovely new carpet! Wow, didn’t see that one coming… Everybody has to endure this problem sooner or later. Why not follow these simple steps into ensuring your carpet stays looking brand new regardless of any unforeseen accidents.
- Invest in some welcome mats. Now this may not seem like much but they can in fact make a whole lot of difference. By having slip mats for visitors to wipe their feet on you will pretentiously be avoiding any unwanted dirt getting into your home.
- Have people remove their shoes. Some people may see this as an extreme measure to take when in fact it is one of the more simple solutions. By investing in a shoe rack and placing it by your front door you will be saving yourself a whole lot of hassle. Politely ask your guests to remove their shoes before entering.
- Keep the room out of bounds for special occasions only. This is certainly a more extreme step to take and is only applicable if you want to keep your carpet in immaculate condition. This isn’t really a step I would consider using for obvious reasons, but if you are trying to keep particular flooring in good condition than this may help.
- Carpet cleaner. If all else fails then why not invest in a carpet cleaner? This may seem like an expensive solution but in fact it doesn’t have to be. There are carpet cleaners which are available to hire if you feel as if they are not worth investing in. If you are really posh then why not even have a professional come and clean the carpet for you?
It doesn’t have to be a difficult task to keep your carpet looking brand new. At least one of the steps should help to guarantee that your carpet stays looking good. Keep your nice new carpets looking pristine by following at least one of these easy solutions!
