Sometimes it gets to the stage where we just want a change. Turn our home into something completely different from the usual style. The only thing stopping you from doing anything is your imagination. Once you’ve made the change you will absolutely love it. You’ll feel great whenever you go home. You might not even want to leave the house.
Don’t feel you need to make drastic changes to the whole house either. If you prefer you can just pick out individual rooms to turn into something special. Think about all those themed hotels. They usually use a different theme for each room. You can do that too. Below is a list of some ideas you can take, or you can use them as inspiration to make up your own unique rooms.
Bamboo jungle home
You could have a room looking like something out of the jungle book. Use bamboo flooring which will make the room feel like a tree house. Something Tarzan would be proud of. Then have some green to mimic the trees. Maybe use green curtains and lampshades. You could even paint bookshelves green. Along with the wooden furniture it will feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. Top it off with a nice swinging hammock bed.
Futuristic Star Trek home
Some people can’t stand Star Trek, but some people absolutely love it. So much so they end up turning their home into a replica of the Starship Enterprise. You don’t need to go that far. Having some advanced gadgets will give the place a nice futuristic feel. Then maybe you can use a lot of grey to give the feeling of a giant computer room. Top it off with a dark ceiling so you can use luminous stickers to make it look like the sky at night.
Turn your home green
Green is probably going to be big in the future. You might as well start now. It still has a look about it that is pretty cool. On the outside you will need to get solar panels to put on your roof. Not only will it make your house look green, but it will also supply you with lots of energy. Win-win situation. You could also buy recycled furniture instead of ones that have been made by chopping down trees.
World of imagination
If you have kids I bet they’d absolutely love their room to be turned into a Disney shrine. Buy some giant stencils and paint characters on the walls. Get all the accessories like bed covers, pillow cases and curtains. You might think it looks pretty horrible, but to young kids they will actually feel like they’re in Disney world. It will make their childhood a lot more enjoyable. After they grow up you can change it into whatever you want. But those early years will be precious.
Down at the beach
If you have a television room why not turn it into a nice beach themed room. Have a sand colored carpet and blue wallpaper. Use bright lights and you can sit back imagining you are lying at the beach. If you’d like you could buy some big fish tanks and fill them with tropical fish. Maybe it’s not a great idea to have this theme for your main room, but if you have a second sitting area it could be nice.
