The History of Tool King
In 1978, Tool King began as a small retail store in Denver, Colorado, selling hammers and power tools to craftsman and do-it-yourselfers. After realizing that there was a high demand for such products, Tool King opened a chain of stores throughout Colorado.
In 1983, Tool King began gaining national exposure and was recognized as an Inc 500 Company for three successive years.
In 1987, Tool King was on their way to achieving national growth and opened six stores in Colorado and three in Wisconsin.
In 2001,Tool King launched ToolKing.com.
In 2003, Tool King combined all the retail stores into one 10,000 square-foot superstore in Lakewood, Colorado. ToolKing.com built efficient fulfillment and distribution systems based on a single warehouse and a network of drop shippers.
In 2004, ToolKing.com is voted Top 50 Best of the Web by Internet Retailer.
In 2005, ToolKing.com began exploring different trade channels and established a partnership with Amazon.com. At this time, ToolKing.com began operating on a .NET platform.
